The Church of Pentecost, like most great institutions, started in a small way. The Church’s beginnings are linked to the ministry of Pastor James McKeown (1900-1989); an Irish missionary sent by the Apostolic Church, Bradford, United Kingdom (UK), to the then Gold Coast (now Ghana) in 1937

The Executives

The Executive Council of The Church of Pentecost Rhema Worship Centre is made up of 7 (seven) members comprising: the Resident Pastor, the Presiding Elder, the Finance Secretary and other Elders.

Currently the Executive Members of The Church of Pentecost Rhema Worship Centre , East Legon are:

  • Ovr Prof. Joseph Osafo – Resident Minister 
  • Elder Stephen Appiah Yeboah – Presiding Elder/District Secretary
  • Elder Isaac Hagan – Financial Secretary
  • Elder Henry Adaletey – Member
  • Elder Prof. Justice Bawole – Member
  • Elder Jacob Essel – Member
  • Elder Solomon Torson – Member

The Executive Council responsible for the administration of The Church of Pentecost.

It is also responsible for implementing policies and decision of the General Council. Also, in cases of emergency, the Executive Council may act for and on behalf of the General Council and report to the same for ratification of its said decision.

As part of its functions, it is responsible for callings, upgradings, appointments, revocations, dismissals, impeachments, transfers and retirement of officers. These functions are discharged in consultation with Area Head where applicable.

In the event of the Pastor proceeding on leave, course or conference, the Executive Members appoints an Acting Chairman from among its members.

The Executive Members also recommends policy matters for consideration by the Church.

Term of Office

The term of office of the District Executive members is five (5) years. Members of the Executive office may be re-elected for further terms.
